My name is Gustava and as you know I'm Nancy's Bird. I have been her bird for over
10 years. I have had 2 other owners one that just could not take care me because
of there life style and the other family I had I out lived them all and Nancy I fell in
love with the second she spoke. You know no one really knows why I chose her but
me and I was lucky I got to go with her 2 years before the last owner passed away.
About me I was Hand picked out of the Congo and I was one of the last shipped to
America from africa, that was a nice plane ride. My first owner I got to be a host
and greet people as they walked in and out of a store. I was a very fast learning
talker. Nancy knows the guys name because I slip sometimes and say it. I lost my
store job when the guy sold me out too. Janice was my next owner her and her
husband owed a car lot. I got to be a stay at home bird here but Janice loved to
take me on car rides. I remember when Janice's husband died at home of heart
failer and a couple years after that she met Nancy's at a skate park for kids. I was
highly attached to Nancy and she was the only one that could handle me not even
Jancie could do what Nancy could do because I would bit them and then laugh
because I thought it was funny. A time came when Janice got very ill and had
to go into the hospital and so Nancy took me home and you know what my home
has been with her ever since. My favorite part of the day is eatting and once a
week I take a warm shower and get my what Nancy calls hair (feathers) blowed
dryed this is totally thee best thing I like to do and when it gets a little warmer
out she gives me a shower once a week. I have a shower cage that she uses
because she always wonders off to get things she lives the radio on in the shower
like I like it. Before showering she cleans my big cage that I call my house. I
alwasys look forward to after my feather have been blowed dryed because
she takes me upstairs and makes me lunch I like peanut butter sandwiche and
most any fruit and nuts. She also feeds me, what she calls a candy bar and it's
a fruit and nut bar ment for humans. My favorite thing to eat and you will hear
me talk about it is chicken leg bones with no chicken meat just the bone and
popcorn. I also once in awhile will beg Nancy to take me bye-bye in the car.
I love going to Mcdonals because I love there french fries and hamburgers and
she takes me there for the kids. For a Parrot I have a very high IQ and I can
learn anything the first time I hear it. I order Nancy and the dogs around all
day long. If Nancy gos up or down the stairs I yell Nancy until she yells back,then
I ask Nancy what are you doing? and the always tells me. I sing a song that gos
Oh Gustason Oh Gustason your a big bird and a good bird too. I sing Shes a girl!
over and over to the dogs. I like to say can you count and just start counting.
Once when I had to go to the vet when Nancy first go me we were in the wait-
ing foom and she sat my cage on the floor I looked up and on the countier was
the company's cat standing there looking down at he thought was lunch there
were other people waiting with pets too. Gus short for Gustava out of the blue
starts barking like a dog at this cat, the cat back up and and decided he was not
hungry after all. I had to jump in on that story because it was a once in a life
time deal. I do really well traveling in a car for days, I have been through many
states with Nancy. Anyway thats a little about me. I will try to edit every so
offten.
